Music online

An exclusive website for Indian music is being launched.

Does the word ‘Muzigle' sound like ‘Google'? Well, it meant to be. That's the intention of a few IT professionals now working on a project aimed at creating world's largest Indian music network for Indians across the world. The word ‘Muzigle' is a combination of music and Google. This is first of its kind effort aspiring to become most popular destination for Indian music of all genres.
The credit goes to Anand Kuchibhotla, Management professional and Shan Appajodu, an IT professional, from Andhra Pradesh. ‘Muzigle' aims to be world's largest online Indian community of emerging musicians who could collaborate and create music with no geographical boundaries.
Once this is set in motion soon, one can listen to free streaming music and download it. The artistes can even promote and profit from their works, by digitally distributing them, says CEO Anand.
A score of IT professionals are busy feeding every kind of Indian music into it, with seemingly greater focus on Telugu music. “It is our mission to help artistes maximise to create, nurture and strengthen relationship with Indian music lovers across globe, at no cost through several features of Muzigle” says Anand. Music lovers can have a great listening experience due to a much higher quality of up to 256 kbps, he explains. One can create play lists, upload videos and photos. “Moreover you can bring out the singer in you singing into the system. The videos of these performances can be shared across your social networks,” he explains.
There is a special craze these days to listen to Annamacharya compositions. Plenty of singers are there. Anand says he is providing space for these artistes and even for the photographs of musicians, composers and lyric writers, with addresses. All Indian languages get represented. Plans are afoot to bring all the available Thyagaraja kirtanas, rendered by great musicians, to one place on the site. There is a special place for vintage songs and effort is already on to collect available old songs and preserve them.
The website is being formally inaugurated on November 29.
